God has been busy!
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers and sisters to dwell together in unity!
- Psalm 133:1
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
God has been busy around Lakewood! I have personal news to share that affects our life together as well as news about our worship schedule you will want to make note of and share with loved ones.
Firstly: I share this personal news with you amid mixed feelings. I have accepted the call offered to me to be Pastor of Bethesda on the Bay Lutheran Church in Bay Village. Even as I look forward to God’s new opportunities, I will be sad to say good-bye to Trinity as I have found my ministry with you to be joy-filled and so blessed! My last Sunday with Trinity will be February 5, 2017. I will treasure the next many weeks as your interim pastor and feel very grateful for our time together over this last year. More information about the transition will be offered as it is available. Join me in continuing to pray for God’s will and the Spirit’s guiding for all of us over the coming weeks and months.
Secondly: The Lord has provided Trinity an opportunity for unity and fellowship through worship during January. We are embracing the chance and trusting the Spirit! Trinity will not worship as usual on our campus for this month, but rather we will journey with brothers and sisters from Good Soil Lutheran Ministries to their respective worshiping campuses in Lakewood and Rocky River. Good Soil is a collaboration between Faith in Lakewood and Our Savior’s in River.
As you may have already heard, Trinity’s main boiler system, which heats the sanctuary has finally seen its last days. With the hopeful sale of the property in the New Year and the exorbitant cost of any repairs, the system will not be fixed. I am grateful we will have warm sanctuaries to worship within for the coming weeks and many brothers and sisters to share the Light of Epiphany season with.
Pr. Mark Rollenhagen, from Good Soil Lutheran Ministries, has begun a six-week Sabbatical and will be away from the ministries during this time. I will step in and share leadership over worship for five of those Sundays while also seeing to pastoral care needs of all three congregations.

Finally: I am excited to announce a Benefit Concert that Trinity is Co-Sponsoring! Mark your calendars! Lutheran Folk/Rock Singer and Songwriter, Jonathan Rundman is coming to Lakewood! Mark your calendar: January 25, 2017 at 7:00pm @ Lakewood Baptist Church (14321 Detroit Ave.) The Concert is Free! An offering will be collected that night to benefit North Coast Health Ministries of Lakewood. Se emore details and download the flier HERE.
Looking forward to riding the wave of the Spirit this month with you! Thank you for your prayerful support of the ministry and for the ways Trinity preaches the Gospel in the community!
Yours on the way,
Pastor Angela Freeman-Riley
